life in plastic is fantastic

Hello, Just a quick noote first; you definately show your skills through your work. A high level of detail. So many people write Only how wonderful a persons work is and are reluctant to offer any critique that they may see. Looking at all of your images I can see you take a ggreat deal of time in smoothing the skin almost to a plastic look. This must be your aim and goal and desired outcome. For me, there can sometimes be too much smoothing and added highlighting such as in this image, the highlight down her nose is so perfectly smooth and straight. the other thing that pops out is the whites of her eyes. When I first looked at this image I thought it was graphicaly done in either photoshop or poser or another 3D imaging program. If you are going for a realistic yet clean look, the whites of the eyes would not be that white, only in a highlighted area. Remember, the eye itself is round and will has shadow areas that turn back in. The overal skin tone seams painted like in the fingers rather than just smoothed. I'm not trying to rip your work apart, it would probable help me to know what your goal and style of work is. You definately, like I said have the talent and it shows in your work. If this is your desired outcome then you have achieved it. Smoothing, blending adding highlights and sharpening are good things to do in any image but it can be done too much. Just my observation, I mean, thats why we post here on Dev Art anyways, to get others opinions and thoughts...not just to be told how great our work is, right?? Take care and keep up the terrific work and welcome to Dev. There is alot of talent and helpful advise that we all can gain from. Enjoy.
